Trip Report: Short Line Bus

For various reasons, we took a Short Line Bus from Monticello, NY to Queens Village in New York City.

There has been a resurgence in bus travel lately. Companies like Megabus and Boltbus has made bus travel more attractive. Unfortunately, Short Line, while providing a valuable service, has changed very little in the ten years since we last rode it, including the buses themselves.

Short Line offers scheduled bus service from New York City to upstate New York, northern New Jersey, and Eastern Pennsylvania. Short Line is best known for its service to the Catskills region and college service to Ithaca, Binghamton, and beyond.

Even though the service was basic, the bus was basically clean, and arrived at its stops as scheduled on its timetable, and even at 8AM on a Sunday morning, people were riding.
